Chad Dispenza

📚 As Director of the California Center for Digital Wellbeing, Chad brings a unique and comprehensive background to his work. Chad holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Marriage & Family Therapy, a Master of Science in Creativity & Change Leadership, and a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology - Web Development.

He is also a Certified Digital Wellness Educator, having completed advanced coursework at The Digital Wellness Institute and MIT.

💼 With a decade of experience as an executive in the digital media industry, Chad combines his industry knowledge with his expertise in psychology and digital wellness. He is dedicated to helping individuals, families, and organizations navigate the complexities of modern digital life.

💡 Chad’s approach is grounded in the belief that technology should—at its best—serve as a tool to enrich our lives, not dictate or distract us from living them to the fullest. The intent and design of technology matter; and yet, we are often inundated with apps, devices, and digital media that are created without our wellbeing in mind, often prioritizing attention, engagement, or profit over mental health and balance.

🧭 Chad’s work is informed by his commitment to fostering intentional relationships with technology, guiding those who consult with him in aligning their digital habits with their personal values and preferred ways of being.

🌐 At the California Center for Digital Wellbeing, Chad leads a range of programs designed to address the unique challenges of our tech-saturated world. His leadership is marked by a compassionate, person-centered approach that emphasizes practical strategies, creativity, and a deep understanding of the often invisible digital forces shaping our everyday experiences.
